Joy....A Holiday Post

Just a little post about how much happiness I see around me during the holiday season. As I've grown older, I have come to realize that Christmas really isn't about how many presents you receive or how flashy they are. It's about filling your own heart and others hearts with overflowing joy, and cherishing the happiness you all can share. It's a time to thank your wonderful God for blessing you with a healthy life full of people you love, in a country that brave men and women fight to protect the freedom you enjoy. Yes, as I've grown older, I've realized the holidays are about rejoicing in your blessings.

I took this picture on Christmas, and although it doesn't appear to have anything to do with Christmas, it really captured the ideas I mentioned above (at least in my opinion). We were celebrating MomMom N's birthday with a cake, and it really touched my heart when I looked at the picture and saw the absolute happiness radiating from her. I just wanted to share it with all of you, and I hope it touches your heart in some way like it did mine.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas (and any other holidays you may celebrate!).

Pictures of Me

These were shot by Briane Morse of Bri Morse Imagery. More of the photos from the shoot can be viewed on her site at http://www.brimorseimagery.com/personalblog/ but here are a few of my favorites.

Stay tuned for a wedding post to come in a few days..... (:

Florida Trip

I recently went on a surprise trip to Florida with my family, and I am so sad to be back in cold weather (though there were some things I missed while I was away). While we were there, we spent time in Disney (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom), Sea World, and Aquatica.

I tried to capture the sights around me as well as I could, but I opted not to bring my Canon along with me so I would not be lugging it around the parks (well really, my mom would have been stuck carrying it when I went on all the rides haha). So please excuse the not-nearly-as-nice-quality photos taken via my iPhone. I wish I had taken my Canon so I could get sharper, better pictures....but here's what I got! Forgive me haha!!

(If you can't tell from the pictures, I was highly infatuated with the palm trees and flowers)
